What Are Chronic Diseases?

There are numerous chronic diseases that can affect people during their lives. Chronic diseases are the major cause of disability and death worldwide. Chronic disease are noncommunicable conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, obesity, depression, cancer, hepatitis, diabetes, and asthma. They are prolonged conditions that don't improve, and are rarely cured.

The Effects of Chronic Diseases

It can be difficult to deal with a chronic disease that interrupts daily life. Often, diet and exercise can play a role in how significantly the chronic disease impacts a person's life. Chronic disease management (CDM) is a relatively new approach to improving the lives of people with chronic disease. This means that patients take an active role in their own care, and are supported by health care practitioners.
